    Project Description

We have embarked on a creative journey to develop an interactive and educational application tailored for young children aged 3-4. Our app, "Kids' Color and Number Learning," is designed to provide an engaging and enjoyable learning experience for young minds while focusing on the fundamental concepts of colors and numbers.

    Purpose and Context

The primary purpose of our app is to foster learning in a fun and interactive way. We recognize the importance of early education in a child's development and aim to make it an enjoyable process. Our app is suitable for use in various contexts, whether it's at home with parents or in an educational setting

    The First Sketches

The sketches below are a hand drawn first-draft ideas by me for what the app could have been

The basic idea was that this app could be used to teach children through simple interactions instead of relying on clicking virtual objects on screen

That idea then evolved into teaching children through interactions with the real world. For this app, they would use their camera to identify things that the app asks.

The app would be able to provide feedback based on what you are trying to learn

If you still struggle to get the answer the app will teach you

Students would be allowed to learn a variety of topics - all through real world interactions via their camera

When the student gets the correct answer the app will immediately congratulate them

Even if the student gets the wrong answer, the app doesn't berate them. Instead it provides honest but polite feedback.

Parents will be allowed to view their child's progress and even test them if they like

The app also takes in feedback to learn about new topics and be more customized for the user

Eventually the child can learn more complicated topics by combining previous topics. The app feedback will also get more complex as a result.

    Final Sketches

The sketches below are a more refined version of our ideas. We formed these by combining the best ideas from our individual first sketches.

    Our Demo

The demo below showcases our app in it's infancy. Within the demo you should see that we have a working UI along with live code that detects the color blue through the webcam in real time. The demo is also voiced over if you would like to an audio description.

Please note that this demo is merely to showcase the concept and is not a representation of the final app.
